NewSpace at Berkeley hosts a number of aerospace events on campus each year. These events not only connect students with industry, but grow the aerospace community on campus as a whole.
This fall on September 5th, we will be hosting the Berkeley Space Symposium, the largest undergraduate aerospace event on campus to date. This event will bring a variety of aerospace organizations and companies to UC Berkeley to give the students an opportunity to receive mentorship from industry professionals, learn about exciting developments in the newspace industry, and develop their careers through our networking session.

NewSpace at Berkeley hosts a DeCal, or student-run P/NP course, sponsored by the director of the aerospace department. Our two-semester DeCal, which is structured like a fellowship, will cover the basics of the modern space economy, dynamics of the NewSpace industry, and basics of entrepreneurship both in and out of industry. Learn from a dynamic, in-person lecture series featuring Harvard Business School case studies, world-renowned guest speakers, and in-class exercises and workshops led by our course partners.
Outside the classroom, you’ll directly apply what you learned to complete a project with the partner company, utilizing a mix of business and technical skills. These project partnerships provide an opportunity for companies to collaborate with the next generation of space professionals and tap into their innovative ideas and fresh perspectives.

NewSpace@Berkeley focuses on space education, providing career development opportunities, and bolstering innovation on campus. We do this through our Entrepreneurship in NewSpace DeCal, organizing special recruitment and awareness events, and running the Berkeley Space Symposium.
