Learn about space from industry professionals and project work for NewSpace companies
Introducing "Celestial Pathways," a California Community College fellowship program that begins on September 5, 2023, and runs until May 15, 2024 spanning two academic semesters with usual winter and spring breaks applied. This program is offered in collaboration between Newpace@Berkeley and the Universities Space Research Association (USRA), targets motivated community college students eager to dive deep into the expansive realm of space research and entrepreneurship.
Students accepted into the Celestial Pathways program will have the opportunity to attend Berkeley's acclaimed NewSpace entrepreneurship course either virtually or in person. Students will learn the ins and outs of the space industry directly from leading industry professionals, gaining valuable insights into the dynamics of the modern space economy.
Our course goes beyond the lecture format by incorporating space related case studies, a lineup of aerospace guest speakers, and interactive projects led by our distinguished course partner. Each student will undertake a hands-on project that will further their understanding and allow them to apply the knowledge they've acquired. This experience will mirror a traditional fellowship, giving students a glimpse into real-world research and entrepreneurial practices.
If you're eager to explore the intersection of space and entrepreneurship and are ready to engage in a transformative learning experience, the Celestial Pathways program is designed for you. Embrace this opportunity to not only learn from leaders in the field but also to contribute your unique insights to real-world projects, shaping the future of the space industry.
The Celestial Pathways fellowship program is a welcoming platform that recognizes potential and ambition. We encourage students from all majors and academic years in Community College to apply. This program offers a unique opportunity to gain experience, deepen your knowledge, and hone your skills in the dynamic aerospace industry.
Previous experience in the field is not a requirement. In fact, our program is specifically designed to cater to those who are looking for more exposure or experience in aerospace.
The Celestial Pathways fellowship program requires a commitment of ~10 hours per week dedicated to coursework and project work.
